Cristina JohnsonDuring high school Cristina found her love of dance which led her to study abroad inMexico for five years majoring in Performing Arts. Her background in dance has helped guide her down a path of healthy living and a love for movement of the body. She started practicing yoga in 2014 because of a low back injury and began to delve more into the practice and philosophy. As her passion grew steadily, realizing that yoga was so much more than poses, Cristina enrolled in a 200 hour teacher training program under the tutelage of Isabelle Casey in 2015 and has had the honor and privilege of studying under the guidance of Bryan Kest. Later in 2017, while teaching yoga at a Pilates studio, she was introduced for the first time to the Pilates Method and soon became a certified Pilates instructor under the teaching of Kelly Latallien through the Pilates Core Integration program set in place by Virginia Nichols.
Cristina loves how yoga and Pilates compliment one another; two practices that truly form a foundation for bringing the body to a place of balance, control, concentration, flow and alignment all the while incorporating the importance of the breath that is so lacking in today’s culture. |
