TRX has me hanging around... Literally and physically!
Yeah.... I'm going to admit something that probably isn't the best for a studio owner- but I really don't like working out. *GASP*
Time. Being sore. Lifting weights. Getting sweaty. You can ask my lifetime fitness coach (my Grandmother) how much I hate sweating! The only way I can deal with any of this- is through an artistic or healing art.
Dance- I danced for 20 years. From ballet to jazz, modern, hip hop, lyrical, heck- even belly dancing! It was everything to me. It was a way for the introverted soul I was to express myself.
Once I stopped dancing- I found yoga! And oooooh did it give me the same feeling that dance did, but even deeper. Through yoga I started working through my fears (I am not strong enough. I am not good enough.) and quickly realized that negative talk was what was always holding me back in life. Through yoga I discovered that I am strong (hello- have you held plank for longer than 5 seconds?) and I am enough. Yoga also opened me up spiritually to what I like to call the Divine.
Then one day I stumbled upon this awesome TRX & Yoga studio named Outpost Training Co. (which I now own with my business partner David and we are Horizon Training Center!) and started teaching yoga there! The OTC owner had me try some TRX classes. Holy Hades! Muscles I had not felt in years- even with ALL of the yoga I do! I began to notice my body becoming to flexible (there is such a thing) and I knew I needed to work on strength to balance that! TRX did that!
TRX changed my yoga practice! I became stronger immediately from all of those lovely TRX Atomic PushUps! My legs started redefining in a way that helped me in my Warriors and Lunges through the endless amounts of TRX Jump Squats! I even, for the first time in my 30 years on this planet, realized that food is fuel. I needed to consume calories to help me with my workouts, yoga practice, and teaching all the time!

Every TRX workout begins with a few stretches and exercises to get your body warmed up for the cardiovascular journey you are about to embark on.
Typically, each class will be comprised of two separate circuits of alternating exercises, 12-15 minutes each, challenging your body, your mind, and getting your heart rate pumping so you can burn calories and build muscle.
After the two circuits a short series of stretches offer your body a nice cool down and allowing the muscles to relax before you leave the gym.
Modifications are always offered in each class depending on what your fitness level is. Each class has a wide range of fitness level participants, but everyone is there for the same goal- health.
