Every class is beginner friendly!

At Horizon Healing Center our yoga classes are a style of their own. We come from the approach of yoga as a means to heal the mind, body, and spirit. The yoga teachers at Horizon Healing Center have been trained in Hatha Yoga (“sun” (ha) and “moon” (tha)), the yoga of balance and Raja Yoga, the eightfold path. Both practices are designed to align and calm your body, mind, and spirit in preparation for meditation.

Every teacher is different and every class is different. We pay attention to the needs of our students, whether it be injuries they are nursing or muscles that are tight; we design our classes to help them in the healing process. When we allow our bodies to relax and let go, we can then allow our minds to turn in to that blissful state we are all searching for! Samadhi!

Unwind: Yin Yoga

Picture
Yin Yoga is a quiet and simple practice, but not necessarily an easy practice. Yin yoga works deeply into our body. It targets our deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues — ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks of the body — rather than the muscles. The perfect way to unwind from the day.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra (dynamic sleep) is a journey through the Koshas, the 5 bodies that compose the Self. As we journey through the Koshas, from the most physical to the most subtle, the practitioner dissolves blockages, allowing prana (life force energy) to flow more freely. We will begin with a brief discussion about Yoga Nidra, followed by some organic movement and breathwork, then we will settle into our supportive postures for the journey. Wear comfy clothes, socks and long sleeves are recommended, your body temperature may drop during the practice.
