![]() “But I Don’t Have Time...” Many people will say that the main reason they don't workout, or eat right, is because of time. We are all probably guilty of this at some point in our lives. This man made concept that dictates everything we do. We never feel as though we have enough time to accomplish anything. We are waking up early to rush to get everyone in the house out the door, off to school/work/or household duties, in the afternoon we may be rushing kids to their afterschool activities maybe 2 a day, then rushing home to throw something quick together to eat or take out,homework/housework, and then going to bed absolutely exhausted because we spread ourselves too thin. We are even doing this to our children. Overscheduling has become the new trend across America. Eventually we will all burn ourselves out with our “so busy” way of life and in the process we are dramatically taking a toll on our wellbeing and our health. How many times have you said: ● "Oh I will just have to run through the drive through because I don't have enough time to fix dinner." You know you can meal prep. ● "I didn't have time to workout today." 10 minutes is better than none. You could go for a walk, do a small circuit, stretch. ● "I don't have time to read." But maybe you have time to play on facebook or watch tv. ● "You should sit in meditation for 20 minutes, unless you don't have enough time. Then you should sit for at least an hour." This is true. If you think that you don't have the time then you should carve out the time. That should be for all aspects of your life. Your: ● Workouts ● Eating healthy ● Spending time with your family ● Meditating ● Reading We have 24 hours in a day. You can find time through your day to add in healthy options and to cut out things that are not ultimately serving your health. The best way to go about this is to: ● Write down your daily schedule from what time you wake up to what time you go to bed. And don’t forget to add in computer time, drive time, tv time, etc. ● Write down your health goals and ways that you would go about achieving them (i.e. lose 20 pounds: workout at least 30 minutes a day, pack my lunch, etc). ● Now put these side to side. Start to look at what you can remove from your daily schedule and find ways to add in activities that will help you reach your goals. (Stop mid afternoon computer time and add in a 30 minute walk. Cut out TV time once a week and meal prep for lunch.) If we all cared as much about our health as we do about time we would understand that time goes by fast, and we need to get a grasp on our health while we can! ![]() Yoga came to me at a time in my life where I was lost beyond belief.I had always been the type of woman who had her life planned out, and thought if I had a life checklist I would achieve all of my goals. Well… I didn’t take into account that everything is always changing. After I had thrown all of my eggs into one basket, the basket was ripped from my griped hands and I was forced to rebuild my life. I didn’t know where to begin. I immersed myself with friends and family and looked for new hobbies—in those new hobbies, I found yoga. Something about the intense physical and spiritual journey that I took on that magic yoga mat made me fall in love. I began to learn gratitude, finding peace within myself and my chaotic, jaded mind. And, most importantly, I found self-love. Yoga saved me from the dark abyss I was in. Yoga taught me to love myself. How could I expect anyone else to love me, if I did not love and honor myself?
On this journey of life lessons, yoga truly amped up the discovery of myself. Yoga awakened within me the components of love and light. And it could not have happened if I never learned to love myself. Namaste! Hannah HutchesonOwner of Horizon Training Center |
