Womb Wellness Yoga: Fertility, Prenatal, Reproductive Health
Why every woman needs this class! So- I will be the first person to say that womb wellness is so important! But I didn't understand it until almost a year ago... My husband and I tried to conceive for close to 9 months. No one really tells you that it doesn't just happen over night- much less those first few months... After 6 months of trying- I was just ready to give up... that's when I reached out to my girlfriend Lisa and asked her if she could lead a fertility yoga class at the studio. I found through our journey that many other women were in the same situation as me... they didn't get pregnant as fast as they thought they would! Lisa through her amazing prenatal training was able to lead us through a wonderful class full of twists and pelvic floor work to better promote fertility! " Running water clears itself"! You gotta keep everything moving. Still waters becomes stagnant and stagnant water creates disease. After the class- we started doing Prenatal Yoga Classes with a few pregnant mommas and she allowed us fertility ladies to join in on the class- the theme is common... promote pelvic floor health, decrease stress, and nurturing your body! After taking two of Lisa's classes... we finally conceived and hoping to welcome our sweet bundle of joy on 12/1/18 :) Now I'm not saying this is a cure all for infertility or healing some difficult pregnancies. But I will say that these classes helped me realize there was more to conception than we all think. Lisa was able to educate me on what I needed to do to prepare my body for conception and now what I need to do to have a healthy delivery and recovery! We are so grateful to Lisa and her knowledge and love for reproductive health! I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this class! Not only are you learning to take care of your body! You are also meeting a community of women that will support you and lift you up through the entire journey! It's more than a class- it's more of a class and community gathering :) _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This class is for ALL women! Our studio isn't designed with the high tech heaters to make it a "true" hot yoga class, however, we are embracing Mother Nature and her hot days in the South! Saving the planet with each drop of sweat! Why don't we offer Hot Yoga? As we mentioned- our building is not designed for hot yoga! Our building was built in the 1930's! We have little insulation in our building! We could place heaters in our building, but then we would be losing lots of heat. When we you lose heat (or air conditioning) you are using more resources. This means you are using more power, more fuel, etc. So we are saving Mother Earth with using as little energy as we have to! Over the Summer months, we will embrace that sweet Southern heat and save the planet with each drop of sweat! Why is Hot Yoga so popular? Well there are lot's of reasons that people love it! One common misconception is that you are getting more of a workout in a hot class compared to a non-hot class. This is not necessarily true. Yes you may be sweating a lot more- but this is because you are detoxifying from the heat and possibly sweating out the water (stay hydrated!). A lot of hot yoga classes are sequenced for a more power class so you can get that cardiovascular workout you are looking for, but heat does not equate more of a workout! And you can make heat within your body with your breath! (Which you can learn about if you come to a class!) The benefits I truly enjoy in a hot class is the openness of the muscles! This can be a good thing and a bad thing! If you are careful and listen to your body- you can go deeper into the poses because the heat has helped the body to relax, improving your breath and focusing your mind. However, some people may get a little too excited that they can go deeper and let the ego take over- this is where injuries can happen. Like always in a yoga class, be slow and listen to your body- that is what you are here for in a yoga class. Yoga means to yoke- the union- the union of the mind and body through the power of the breath! So come check us out! The temperature will range from 80-85ish (the highest we will let it go is 90). Natural Hot Yoga will take place on Tuesday's 715-830pm starting June 5th until August 28th. This will be a Flow Yoga class filled with strength, balance, and deep stretching. Available for all levels! ![]() We are bringing back Kids Yoga - Saturday's 1030-1130 beginning May 26th! Ages 4-8 Kids Yoga is a wonderful way to get your kids moving, using their imagination, and give them the tools to becoming aware. A lot of schools are understanding the importance of yoga and the increased concentration amongst their students. Therefore, performing better on tests, etc. In our kids classes, we start with an introduction to get the kids comfortable with the group and their teacher. We then work on breathing exercises to calm the kids. From there we begin the asana, poses, where they can use their imagination and create poses as well. We read a story and discuss things we should do and not do (Niyamas and Yamas from the 8 Limbs of Yoga). And then we use our imagination to go to a happy place where we can relax and be free! But there are SO many more benefits than just concentration.
