Emily has created such a healing business, Energy Insights, and I (Hannah H.) am so lucky to have crossed paths with her! She helps everyone find the means to heal themselves, through energy work. She leads Reiki Certifications at Horizon Training Center. She is always bringing the light to everything she does and we cannot wait for everyone to meet her! Come meet Emily & Energy Insights at the Spring Social & Shop!
1. What is your business? Energy Insights is my dream business. It is working with the energy body in subtle yet powerful ways. Our bodies are made of energy currents and some of that energy can get stuck when we don't process emotions. And, I LOVE processing emotions. It is my ability to tap into emotions without fear that equips me to do this work. Emotion is what makes us divinely human. There is no need to fear emotions. When you embrace how you feel without judgement you are able to heal. And then you transcend that state to reach a higher state. FEEL. HEAL. TRANSCEND. 2. Why do you do what you do? I do this work because it is a calling. I didn't ask to do this. I was lead to it through synchronicities. When I am ready to learn someone is there to teach me. It is an honor to be in the position of both teacher and student. I love sharing what I have learned with others. If I can ignite the healing abilities in someone else I am living my purpose and paying it forward. I do this because I believe we are ready to raise our consciousness to new heights and in doing so we bring more love, compassion and kindness to this planet. It is my privilege to do my part. 3. How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Energy Insights came to me. As did my motto FEEL. HEAL. TRANSCEND. The body is always communicating with us. These are energetic insights, messages from our body to our Soul or vice versa. If your heart is aching (grief), your stomach is in knots (fear), or your mind is racing (anxiety) you are getting energetic messages from your body that something is not congruent in your life. Pay attention. Feel what you are trying to avoid. Let yourself go there. I promise it is buried treasure, an insight there for your growth. If you ignore these messages they will get louder and more painful. 4. What is your mission with your business? My mission is to bring more light to this planet by connecting people to their own Divinity. I do believe with all my heart that the Kingdom of God is within you (and me). 5. What inspires you? Nature inspires me. It is a clear message from God that we are loved! 6. Do you support local? Is it important to you now that you are a local business owner? I love buying direct from artisans. I know they put their heart and soul into their goods. 7. What makes your business unique? Oh there are lots of people doing what I do. It is my individual energy that resonates with some people more than others. Those are the people I want to attract. I like to have fun while doing some really deep stuff. I drop f-bombs. I don't take myself too serious even though I take what I do seriously. It is a delicate balance. I am not looking to reach everyone but the ones that I reach know it and we have a blast! 8. Where can people find you? I am revamping my website so you can reach me for now at www.facebook.com/EnergyInsights 9. If your business were a cupcake- what flavor would you be? It would be a devils food cake with a yummy fluffy white filling! We go through the rich darkness to get to the light delicious center! We are both light and dark and both are perfect.

![]() You cannot pour from an empty cup... But so much of us do... It doesn't have to be just women giving the energy that they don't have for themselves, but we tend to do it more often than not. Living in the mentality that you cannot say "no" and that you don't want anyone to suffer, you will go above and beyond to make sure that they are taken care of, while you yourself are on your last leg and crying when alone because you are so tired. This happens every day. It happens with me often. That final straw that just broke my back... Where I throw in the towel and take a "Me Day"... But that's not healthy... We need to maintain an active self-care routine to prevent this burnout. Self-care is taking the time out of your busy day, or busy week, and doing whatever makes your soul sing. It could be reading, watching the stars, taking a bath, getting a massage, yoga class, communion with sisters, cooking yourself a nice meal... Whatever makes you sit back and say "ahh that's exactly what I needed to let go". It is encouraged to fill your cup at least once a week. Some carve out time to do it every day and kudos for that! In our HERizon Red Tent Temple this Friday, March 31st (630-9pm) we will discuss why it's important to take care of ourselves, as we fill our "cups" in the tent! Join us as we fill ourselves us so we can go back out into the world healing, loving, and taking care of those around us! 218 Jewelry makes one of a kind pieces! All handcrafted from the one of a kind soul Lori! She takes copper crafts to a whole new level, infusing love, scripture, and the perfect amount of femininity to each piece! Come check out all the amazing goodies 218 Jewelry has at the Spring Social & Shop!
1. What is your business? My business is 218 Jewelry. I like to create inspirational and faith based jewelry. Two examples are simple mustard seed necklaces and my molten solder on copper line which includes pendant necklaces, cuffs and earrings. 2. Why do you do what you do? I am an interior designer by trade but am not able to do that full time due to health reasons. Knowing that I had a purpose, I turned my jewelry making hobby into a full time business. I knew I needed to be designing something pretty! 3. How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Ever wake up just to look at the clock? Well I did this several nights, and the clock always said 2:18, then the number showed up on street signs, car tags, etc. It is also my birthday. I was beginning to think I was crazy! Lol I thought, "I'm gonna die on my bithday!!!" A few years had past, and I was still here. One morning I woke up and turned on the tv. One of those church shows was on and James 2:18 was written across the bottom of the screen. "But someone will say, 'you have faith; I have deeds.' Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds." I knew then, that I had a purpose. Everyone has God given talents and we are supposed to use them for His good. What are your talents? 4. What is your mission with your business? I love to inspire and uplift people! If I can do that through jewelry as a constant reminder that we are all loved, that makes me happy. 5. What inspires you? Meeting new people and making pretty things that I know are going to be special to my customers, friends and family. 6. Do you support local? Is it important to you now that you are a local business owner? Yes, I believe we can all help each other. I am happy to be a part of The Horizon Center's Spring Social and Shop. 7. What makes your business unique? I make jewelry out of hand cut copper sheets and solder that is heated then stamped with intricate stamps. No two are alike. 8. Where can people find you? I am part of a very bunch of talented artists at Twist Fine Consignments and gifts in Marble Hill (near IGA.) I am also on Facebook and Etsy. 9. Tell us anything we missed! My family is more important to me than anything. I have been married for almost thirty years to a very talented welder and knife maker who also enjoys playing the guitar and singing with me. And we have two very smart, independent, beautiful daughters. 10. If your business were a cupcake- what flavor would you be? Caramel with unrefined sugar sprinkles. Because it is copper in color, yummy, and shiny on top. Wildflower Boutique Ga is an amazing clothing store ran by two amazing women- Diane and Danielle! Going strong for a few weeks after the new year, trying to reach your resolutions, but then you fell off and haven't been able to get back on the health train? You are not alone... It's hard to get a schedule in place that you can comfortably continue throughout the year because it takes you out of your comfort zone. Once you experience this discomfort- we resist. It's human nature, but something you can conquer! If you have found yourself not going to the gym, exercising, eating healthy, or just making time for yourself- here are a few tips to help you: 1. Connect with why you want to reach the goals you set. Why do you want to reach this goal? Is it for you, your health, your spouse? If you can fully connect to why you want to reach this goal, then you are more likely to succeed. If you find yourself not reaching your goals, remind yourself why it's important to you and what it will bring to you. This can help reenergize your connection with the goal and get you back on track! 2. Don't let setbacks get you down. We all have those moments where we have halfway completed a goal, but we can't go any further. For example: our goal was to lose 20 pounds and we lost 10 and can't seem to lose the last 10 pounds. This in no way means that you are a failure or you didn't meet your goal- you did meet your goal of losing weight. Think of the positives that come from losing the 10 pounds: healthier, clothes fit better, you feel better, more energy, etc. From there you can... 3. Redefine your goals. You may have noticed that you set difficult goals to reach, so redefine them- there is no shame in that. If you lost 10 pounds and wanted to lose 20 pounds, maybe set the goal to lose another 10 or maybe to lose a certain amount of inches. We aren't all going to lose weight, but we may lose inches. You may also find that 10 was the perfect amount for you and you are happy with the way you feel and look! It's not always about the numbers- remember that! Life changes, things happen, reworking your goals to meet what you are currently facing is a great way to refresh yourself and start obtaining your goals again. 4. Reach out for help. Horizon Training Center is here to help you reach your goals! We offer TRX, Self Defense, Kickboxing, Jeet Kune Do, Personal Training, and Yoga & Meditation to take a fully balanced approach to helping everyone find the healthiest version of themselves! Let us know your goals and we can help design a plan of action to get your body in movement and your mind in motion! ![]() There are only a handful of people who have the ability to pull off the combination of good looks and deadly moves. James Bond, the cool intel agent in a tailored suit who can order a cocktail one minute and disarm an attacker the next. The assassin John Wick who was dragged back into the life, hellbent on delivering a fist-full of revenge. The ex-government operator Jason Bourne, fighting to reveal the truth he has forgotten. And let’s not forget Natasha Romanov, ex-Soviet assassin who can take out a room full of Generals in a slinky dress. These men and women know the value of a good suit to dazzle the eye and conceal deadly skill. Let’s not deny it, we’ve all watched these characters and wished we could be them. So join me at Horizon Training Center in your most dapper of outfits for a few hours of martial arts training fit for the big screen. We are going to go through a series of scenarios countering empty hand attacks; countering the jab, cross, and hook to return our own flurry of punishment. We’ll move on to cover a few empty hand vs blade counters; disarm and disable. You’ll have to stay sharp for these. At the end of the evening we’ll step into the danger zone by running a multiple opponent scenario. Dapper and non-Dapper are welcome but a dapper outfit will get you a discount for the workshop. Look good but I suggest wearing something that will let you move. You don’t have to do the full Bond tuxedo. Slacks and a button up will suffice. Egos are checked at the door. We are aiming to have a little fun and learn a few things. Cooperation, not competition tonight! We all want to look good so we’re going to help our partners look their best. |
